Chapter 66: The Chosen One's Luck

Stark knew that many people (if not most) inside the \'Death Canyon\' were observing his every move, both thanks to the \'highlight replay\' that was seen by everybody, but also since he had basically fought the strongest monster inside the canyon (at least for now).

He didn\'t know what to do now, and he didn\'t feel like interacting with anybody while waiting for the next batch of monsters to spawn, it seemed like no one had gotten a \'TP Pearl\' either.

But as if some grand entity (well… probably Rher to be honest) heard it…

[Talent: Chosen One, activated!]

\'What the?\' he was confused, why would it activate now, was another bad thing bound to happen soon?!

He looked down at the minotaur\'s body, and suddenly, he saw not one, but two shiny sparks, one was red, and the other dark blue.

\'Ohoh~ the talent gave me equipment,\' he grinned, actually happy that it finally was helping him out after fucking him so many times over.

He first reached out to pick the equipment with the red glow: it was a helmet, one that had two horns much like the minotaur ones, it had a brown color, its interior almost feeling like it was made of fur.

\'Great, it\'s useless…\' he groaned, but still inspected it regardless.

[Equipment:] The Minotaur\'s Helmet

[Type:] Helmet

[Class:] Warrior

[Tier:] Rare

[Required Level:] 40

[Quality:] Normal

[Attributes:] +250 Strength, +400 Defense

[Special Perk:] Allows the wearer to go into a berserk state, essentially using the \'Berserk State\' skill of the Canyon Minotaur, which greatly enhances strength, defense, and stamina (+50% increase) for a minute.

"I don\'t want to sound ungrateful, but I could really do without this helmet at the moment," Stark grumbled, hefting the helmet in his hand, it was maybe good for a warrior, but to no use for him currently.

\'Spatial Inventory,\' he mumbled and put the equipment inside the void, before closing it shortly afterward.

Most people had stopped looking at Stark now since the fight ended, instead discussion strategies with their respective team or taking a rest, but those who were still paying attention to him had yet again been surprised: what the fuck was that void next to him, and how did he put an item inside.

People when they wanted to store an item for later would need to use an item called the \'Store Watch\', its price depends on the amount of items you want to store inside, but usually it\'s around 10 for a normal one.

And yet… what did that guy just do? Summoning a void next to him and putting the item inside of it like it was nothing.

\'An inventory skill?\' they thought, unsure whether such a thing existed as it was only rumors.

Stark paid no attention to them and quickly moved on to the second item drop.

[Talent: Chosen One, activated!]

Yet again, the notification appeared.

\'…?\' he reached for the dark blue light, and it immediately disappeared once he touched the item, revealing it to be…

A pearl?

It was a dark blue circular pearl that had aura emanating from it, Stark tried to look through it but saw nothing.

Of course, in the back of his mind, a thought was slowly but surely emerging, but there was no way right?

After all… the percentage chance of it dropping was extremely low… RIGHT?

But Stark didn\'t know that \'Chosen One\' could defy anything to bring misfortune (or fortune) to its owner.

Or at least, he had underestimated it.

[Item:] TP Pearl

[Type:] Throwable

[Quality:] Perfect

[Perk:] Throw the pearl in the direction you want, and when it hits the ground, you will be teleported to that exact location.

[Hint:] Throw it on the other side of the canyon to pass.

Stark stared at the TP Pearl in his hand, trying to comprehend what was happening.

\'Chosen One\' had actually helped him out, giving him the item he so wanted on his first try against one of the monsters.

The extremely low chances of dropping seemed to be completely defied.

He almost wanted to laugh out loud, but doing so would attract unwanted attention, so he just grabbed the pearl and tightened his hand around it to hide it from the others, all the while slowly approaching the edge of the canyon.

"Yo, what is he doing?" someone asked, pointing at Stark.

"Huh… maybe he is trying to inspect the canyon?"

"What a way to die, anybody could push him off if they felt like it…"

Even Lana was worried, what could Stark be doing, why was he approaching the edge of that deadly space, with spikes and monsters ready to kill whoever came down.

But once Stark reached the very edge.

He enacted his plan: use the TP pearl.

He slightly opened his hand, and suddenly, the glow of the pearl could be seen by everybody.

[TP Pearl acquired!]

A panel appeared in front of everyone, and an arrow pointed to Stark\'s location.

~FWISH~

Stark threw the pearl as far as he could, easily making it fly over the canyon.

Many people read the message and reacted immediately, dashing toward Stark with an impressive speed, wanting to steal the pearl and use it on themselves.

But it was too late.

Dozens of people reached Stark, but right as they were about to attack him and take it from him…

The pearl hit the ground on the other side of the canyon.

"Invincible Dodge!" Stark used his skill and avoided everybody\'s attacks, giving him the invincibility frames he needed to teleport.

In a flash of dark blue light, Stark was surrounded by an aura by the same color and disappeared from his current location, leaving behind a confused and frustrated mob of players.

Reappearing on the other side of the canyon, he stumbled slightly from the disorienting teleportation before regaining his balance.

As he looked around, Stark realized that he was indeed on the other side, since just in the distance he could see the many people that had tried to attack him.

"SEE YA SUCKERS!" he laughed out loud and shouted loud enough for everyone to hear.

"THAT LITTLE SHIT!" Jack cursed again, he was among those that tried to attack Stark but miserably failed.

"Pffttt~ look at those dumbasses," those that didn\'t move from their places mocked those that actually tried to steal the item, leaving them embarrassed.

"Stark…" Lana mumbled, impressed by his ability to avoid everyone, but also by his insane luck, getting the needed item on the first try was phenomenal to say the least.

"Ahhhh~ that feels good," Stark grinned and turned his back to the crowd of furious classifiers, waving his hand from behind to spit them even more, "Anyway… now I have the complete advantage, I need to complete that rift before more people get the TP Pearl…"

And so he began running toward the other direction, ready to get to that monument at the top of the mountain.
