Chapter 114: Interrogation...Torture? II

Arkin shuddered as the bone settled on his neck, a solid cold weight. "What is this? What are you trying to do? This won\'t make me say anything! Remove this at once!"

Jael gave him a little space and pointed his right hand. "We\'ll see if you\'ll say anything." He activated his Unholy magic and the bone reacted.

He grimaced as the magic from the bone mixed with his even though he had spent ten minutes trying to fill it up with his magic earlier. He shuddered when he remembered the deep-rooted fear that held him even though his power blocked most of it. "You won\'t enjoy this."

"Seriously, what are you doing? Remove this! I can tell it\'s something I don\'t.....!" Arkin has felt fear before; he\'s very familiar with it, and he takes extra pleasure in causing it.

But what holds him right there transcends fear, his body stiffens, but he immensely shit himself. This is an instinctive fear of a helpless human against the monster. An inborn thing that he couldn\'t control.

He felt as if he was in the jaw of some terrible monster and he could only watch as it crushed him. He whimpered as his urine dripped onto the floor.

Temur grimaced; he didn\'t feel what Arkin was feeling, but the way the man was behaving made him uncomfortable. Just what is going on?

Jael was sweating. He hadn\'t had the opportunity to work with silver-rank bones, and now he knew he wouldn\'t. It\'s eating his mana faster than anything he\'s ever seen. And not only that, he\'s feeling just a tiny bit of the fear from the bone and it\'s sending his heart pumping.

But he has to finish what he started. "Arkin, where is the Blood Necromancer, Kaelith."

He cut off the power he\'s sending to the bone and he staggered, so this is the power of silver rank bone? What if the monster faced him?

Arkin whimpered, his face crumbled and he began to cry. "Please...please...please don\'t d.. do that again."

Temur\'s hand on Jael\'s shoulder steadied him. "Calm, you\'ve done well. Let me take over now."

Jael nodded and joined Thayer against the wall. "Ah! I feel like I need to rest for two days. Everything in my body ached."

Thayer gave him a look. "Your powers," he shuddered. "I don\'t want to be in your bad book."

"Says the person that can probably buy the end of the world from their phone."

Thayer smirked. Indeed.

Meanwhile, Temur crouched in front of the whimpering man; he grimaced from the smell of shit and urine. He said firmly. "Listen, Arkin. You tell us what we need and we\'ll let you go. Easy right?"

Fear seems to have choked the senses right from his head because he nodded quickly and started to answer his questions.

Later that evening, the Tower Guards are surprised to receive a call from the Gold Guild for them to come for the prisoner. More surprised though when they saw him and he begged them to take him away from him– the Necromancer.

They didn\'t get to know what happened, but it would be the first time someone answered all their questions without them having to torture them first.

Captain Ryker decided it was a good deal.

Thayer threw his full support against them, but only him, and he forbade any of his team to get involved. And the first thing he did was call his local financial Guild, and he told them– \'I am going to need a lot of gold coins.\' He called a meeting that evening to talk about their next move.

When Jael entered the room, he yawned because he\'s just woken up from the stress from earlier. "Just the three of us?"

"We are the ones who are going to do the mission anyway, right? It\'s better this way." Thayer said. "So let\'s get down to it."

"First thing first, we can\'t beat Kaelith," Temur said flatly. "We can\'t defeat a silver rank. We need someone on equal footing with him."

"What if we support ourselves with artifacts? Won\'t that help a little?" Jael asked. That helped them back in the town with the gangs.

"Back then, we were able to infiltrate the enemy\'s base and poison their water. It won\'t be possible now."

Jael frowned. "Then what do you suggest? None of us are silver ranks."

Thayer tapped his chin. "Then if we can\'t fight him on our own then we borrow who can," he shrugged. "We find someone who can fight the necessary with no fear."

They are silent as they each think of who they can find; most hired ones will turn them down. Then Jael\'s eyes lit up. "I think I Know just who might be interested."

"That\'s good enough," Temur nodded. "Then let\'s get down to the plan...."

Litha didn\'t know how long she\'d been in the orb; night and day were something she couldn\'t tell from her place. The only difference is Kaelith and Kaidos coming and going from the room, which looks to be some kind of workshop.

What she did to keep boredom away was to study her mana and Codex. And the thought of when those two boys would come to save her, but a seed of worry bloomed inside her, not because she thought they wouldn\'t come– but what if they ended up captured too? Or worse.

Kaelith ignored her for most of the time but today is an exception. He turned to her when he was done with his work that day. "Your friends...they might come soon."

She twitched and then flashed him a smile she knew he wouldn\'t see anyway. "Then you should feel fear."

He chuckled.
