Chapter 1833 - A Lucky Day

Chapter 1833: A Lucky Day

It wasn’t particularly amazing in any area, just that it could release a flash fork-shaped lightning that reached far distances. It could be compared to a full-screen flash that you saw in cartoons or comics. This flash wasn’t only far-reaching but also very powerful too, which was why Lu Li was almost One Shot.

After falling to the ground, Lu Li immediately escaped in a very awkward situation. The monsters in Zangarmarsh could easily come out and One Shot his weak self.

Although he didn’t have to worry about going right back to the main road after he died, it was too hard to level up these days. If he died once, it would take quite a few hours to earn back the lost EXP.

Anyway, the goal wasn’t far; Lu Li just planned to kill his way to it.

The marsh had very strong anti-Stealth abilities so Lu Li couldn’t sneak away. Lots of thieves who were here were asking for trouble. When its HP was very low, the Marshtrekker Boglashes liked to get into the marsh, so there were lots of traps in the places where they waited. Thieves who liked jumping here and there would often jump into the traps themselves.

Lu Li didn’t fancy that sort of thing. He used his equipment’s special effect, charging right in front of the monster. That was how directly he dealt with the Marshtrekker Boglashes.

It was an ordinary monster so even if Lu Li gave up his Thief advantage, he would still survive.

Picking up the quest items that the Marshtrekker Boglashes dropped, Lu Li continued to loot and move forward. He needed to be super careful. Even though he was careful, there were still a few times where he almost dropped his foot into a trap.

Good thing he changed a few pieces of equipment and could escape. He had some equipment with special effects to escape immediately. As soon as he encountered such a situation, he would escape straight away.

The little monsters here would drop a blueprint. There were alchemy and engineering blueprints, and all that helped players escape this sort of environment. Lu Li killed four or five Marshtrekker Boglashes and finally reached Fred.

Fred was a Druid. Since he was young he lived in an ordinary home in Thunder Bluff. His father was a Warrior. And in the War of the Harpies, his father gave his own life.

As the heir of a martyr, Fred was very well taken care of and became an outstanding Druid.

It was a shame that he never understood the magic of flying. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be stuck in this dry well here. It had already been three days. If his comrades noticed that he hadn’t gone back, would they actually think he had died? Or would they think he could still he saved?

He was tortured with starvation. His supplies didn’t end up falling with him into the dry well, and it was also dark and damp here. The dry well in the swamp was probably originally a trap and a result of the changing terrain – which he suspected was because the Naga destroyed this land, making the water level slowly decrease. Good thing this was a safe place. As long as he didn’t cry and shout, no unobservant monster would find and mess with him.

“Fred, Fred...”

A faint call reached the rims of his ears. The dying Fred didn’t dare to believe the tiny voice he heard again and again. That’s right, it was calling his own name, he took a deep breath and used his hoarse voice to shout a reply.

Lu Li actually knew where he generally was, but this just made it a little easier. Following the sound, he found where this dry well was. Then using a very ordinary rope, he saved Fred the environmental researcher and successfully completed the first quest he had.

“Thank you, friend. You saved my life,”

The Cenarion Circle members didn’t have super strong views towards armed forces, so a Night Elf wouldn’t put much emotional pressure on a Tauren.

“I went past the refuge and received a quest to look for you. This damned place is just too hard to find. There are monsters and traps everywhere. Good thing I could find you.” Lu Li took out some food and water and watched him consume it ferociously.

“Thank you so much.” Fred was in tears. He then rewarded Lu Li with a massive hunk of XP.

Lu Li immediately reached level 63.

He finally experienced what it felt like to be someone with high charisma doing a quest. It really wasn’t fair that they could get XP just by barely doing anything.

“Let me escort you back,” Lu Li said after Fred had rested enough.

“My quest still isn’t finished. I need to do what I need to do,” Fred replied as he shook his head, refusing Lu Li’s offer.

“Then I’ll help you,” Lu Li said earnestly.

“Sure, then help me kill ten Marshtrekker Boglashes because I need to collect their blood samples,” Fred was in a bit of a difficult situation, but someone had just come to save his life. So, he couldn’t refuse him directly.

The system told Lu Li he had received a quest.

Evidently, if you wanted a quest, you had to give up face. He already been hit with 3 quests today, 2 of them overlapping. As for the other one to find Fred, who knows, he could get an extra reward when he returned.

“We came to the Outland full of hope; we hoped that we could discover new species. When we went to Zangarmarsh, it seemed like a rich, flourishing ecosystem— shame that our first impression was wrong. After we did some surveying, we realised that the water level of the lake and marsh here kept dropping. This meant that there was an impending disaster for the plants here.”

“Do you need check on the ecosystem again?” Lu Li asked enthusiastically.

This quest wasn’t hard at all. It was a Naga team led by Vashj that occupied Serpent Lake in Zangarmarsh. They made a giant water pump to pump out all the water from the marsh so that they controlled the extremely precious source of water in the Outland.

This was a really nonsensical plot in the game. It’s like if Lu Li was able to store up a lot of water in real life, then he could unite the whole world under his control or something.

If you don’t obey me, I won’t give you water to drink.

“Um, the thing is...” Fred was in a tough situation. These omens were just his own estimates. It was difficult to have it issued to someone as a quest.

“Don’t worry at all sir, I’m particularly reliable and diligent. There won’t be any problems if you hand it over to me,” Lu Li was talking himself up, but his words were still practical. If you looked at his ability to do quests, he was much more reliable than some of those who had high charisma.

“Alright then, consider it me asking for your help Elf. Are all your people so enthusiastic?” Fred finally softened his stance.

The system told Lu Li that he had gotten the quest ‘The Secret of Colifang Reservoir’ which was another quest which had heaps of XP as a reward— today was definitely his lucky day.
